The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is the first committee of the General Assembly. Its aim is to deal with conflicts which pose a threat to international peace. The main methods it uses to achieve these goals are disarmament and regulations of armaments. Its first resolution was created in 1946, after the use of the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
